February 20, 1939 – January 28, 2025
On Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Leonora Raymundo Musni, also known to many as Leony, a loving wife, and mother of three children, passed away at the age of 85 at Health Sciences Centre Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Leonora was born on February 20, 1939, in the town of Pateros, Manila, Philippines to Eulogio and Rosario Raymundo. She was part of the class of 1952 at Pateros Elementary School. During the 1960’s, she worked as a factory worker at Litton Mills Inc. in Pasig Metro
On May 1, 1971, she married the love of her life, Felino T. Musni Sr. They raised three children, Melanie (Lanie), Felino Jr. (Boyet) and Maria Luisa (Malou). She was a homemaker and a businesswoman, owner of a custom garment shop and convenience store.
In July 2019, she boarded a plane for the first time to happily migrate to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada to be with her children, grandchildren, and other relatives.
She loved to be called “Mommy Leony” and her relatives often called her “Ate Leony”. Her three youngest grandchildren taught her to use YouTube on the TV, so she spent her time watching Filipino cooking videos and watching her favourite noon time shows. She loved to cook different kinds of Filipino dishes, like sinigang and bibingka. She also loved to chat with her relatives in the Philippines on her iPad.
Leony was known for her cheerful personality combined with her selfless and compassionate spirit. She had a contagious laugh and smile that brought joy to those around her.
Leonora was preceded in death by her father, Eulogio, her mother, Rosario and husband Felino Musni Sr. She is survived by her three children, Melanie, Felino (Florirma) and Maria Luisa (Maxwell), her five grandchildren, Floriane, Floreine, Max Andre, Matt Andrew and Maxine Andrea, her seven siblings Crisostomo (+), Crisanta, Josephino, Ricardo (+), Victor (+), Rolando (+) and Lorenzo, her nephews and nieces and cousins.
We would like to thank the healthcare workers who took great care of her, especially her neurosurgeon team of doctors and nurses at Health Sciences Centre Hospital, and her homecare health care aides.
