In a prayerful response to the recent discovery of the unmarked graves at Indian Residential Schools, a memorial has been established in Living Waters Columbarium.
With this memorial, we acknowledge our sorrow and responsibility as church for the travesties associated with the residential school experience, we pledge our cooperation in healing the wounds that have been inflicted, and we commit ourselves to ongoing prayer for those who have died within the residential school experience, as well as for the families and communities that have been affected by such tremendous loss.
We Pray…
For all who lived through and experienced the travesty of the residential school system in our country.
For families and individuals whose lives have been forever destroyed because of the injustices and acts of discrimination that were experienced.
For healing, reconciliation and justice that will address the wounds inflicted in the name of religion, education and progress.
